Fusion Group's celebration of its 40th birthday, dared 18 teams across the company to raise £40,000 using a seed fund of £500 and their initiative. The result has surpassed all expectations, and will benefit local and national charities.

Fundraisers from each team pulled out all the stops and made it a year to remember with fun days, fancy dress, cake sales, a hugely successful Zumbathon, facial hair competitions, raffles and many, many sponsored walks and bike rides.

Chairman Eric Bridgstock, who initiated the challenge, is thrilled with its success: "Over thirty different charities will benefit from our efforts and most of those have some connection with a Fusion person who has a particular reason to help. That makes the giving a lot more meaningful and encourages a sense of community," he said.

Among the many charities to benefit was Macmillan Cancer Support. Local fundraising manager, Rob Turner, worked with the teams to make the most of their events: "Thank you to everyone at Fusion for their passion, commitment and hard work. By supporting us it means we can make a difference to so many people's lives," he said.
